Getting around DHIS2 — the basics every user needs to know
Click to open all available apps. Your apps depend on your role.
Type an app name to find it quickly — faster than scrolling.
System messages and alerts appear here.
Access your profile, change password, and log out.
Shows your name and a dropdown menu.
Opens your profile settings page.
Enter your current password, then your new password twice.
You will be logged out and asked to log in with the new password.
Changes the DHIS2 menus and labels — English or Nepali.
Changes the names of programmes, data elements and forms.
Profile icon → Edit profile → scroll to Settings → choose language → Save.

App menu → search "Cache" → open Browser Cache Cleaner → click Clear All. Then refresh the page.
Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete (Windows) or Cmd + Shift + Delete (Mac) → clear cached images and files.
How to open, fill, and submit the monthly aggregate data form
App menu (⊞) → click Data Entry.
Choose "Health facility data collection tools" from the dropdown.
Pick your assigned ward or health facility from the tree.
Choose the correct month and year you are reporting for.
Press Tab to move to the next field. The cell turns green when saved.
Each cell saves when you move away from it. You don't need to click Save for each row.
This marks the form as fully submitted for that period. Do this only when all fields are filled.
The previously entered values will appear in the form.
The Incomplete button appears at the top. This unlocks the form for editing.
Click the cell, clear the old value, and type the correct number. It saves automatically.
Re-submit the form once all corrections are made.
Registering and managing events for community and health facility programmes
App menu (⊞) → click Capture.
Use the org unit selector at the top to choose your assigned location.
Choose from the list — only programmes your group has access to will appear.
Button appears at the top right of the programme's event list.
Enter the date the visit or assessment took place — not today's date if different.
Fields marked with * are mandatory. The form won't save without them.
The event is saved and appears in the event list.
Filter events by date range or other fields to find a specific record.
Opens the event form with existing values. Change what you need and save.
Open the DHIS2 URL in your mobile browser. Events save even with slow connection — data syncs when internet is restored.
Creating, editing, and managing user accounts in DHIS2
Find the user → click ✏️ Edit
Scroll to the Password field
Enter a new temporary password and Save
Share the new password securely with the user
Find the user → click ✏️ Edit
Find the "Disable" toggle or checkbox
Enable it and Save — the user cannot log in anymore
To re-enable: repeat and uncheck the disable toggle
